Back Home
Landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Immigration, customs was a breeze and we came home to this beautiful sign outside our yard. We have to give a special thanks to “Aunty Kim” who surprised us all with this beautiful sign. I was especially glad to be home and meet Romeo. This is the longest I had ever left him, and did I miss him everyday while I was in Mexico. We finally settled down, nanny leaves and its me, Romeo and Kyra. The true test of my fatherhood skills would come in to play now.
Kyra gets up and is extremely fussy. I have done the basic checks- diaper is clean, she is not hungry. Not sure what is going on. Romeo starts bringing his toys to see if that soothes. My neighbor Ken stops by to say hello, he didn’t know that I was already back and just saw folks come in and out of the house and see me coming down the stairs holding a very fussy Kyra. He comments as to how happy I look and I thought to myself, last time you saw me I was holding a beer, grilling food and watching a Viking game, now I have a fussy baby and no clue what to do, not sure if I describe that as happy ..:).
Ken, leaves and I have a fussy baby and not sure what to do, I go into the kitchen and need my hands to unpack Kyra stuff, I put her in the car seat and within 5 seconds she goes from being fussy, crying to knocked out cold sleep in the car seat. Its like magic!!!So know I have another lesson learnt. If nothing is working and basic are checked, try the car seat.
